PRAYER FOR ONESELF – I thank Thee, Father-Mother God, that neither ignorant, fraudulent, nor malicious mortal mind can reach me, or affect me mentally, physically, financially, or otherwise; and I know it, for God is the only power; that I am not the victim of aggressive mental suggestion, nor the target of M.A.M. claiming to operate through any channel whatever, but I am the blessed legal child of God, spiritual, immortal, all-harmonious, perfect, happy, healthy, pure, sinless, free, and fearless and diseaseless, and deathless, expressing the substance of all good.

449 — WATCH that you bear in mind that God is not separate from the blessings He bestows, in the sense that His expression carries His qualities. On this basis we declare that God never sends man gifts; He always brings them.
We cannot believe that any part of His expression lacks any of His qualities. Food as spiritual nutriment designed to support man, cannot be separated from God’s love and care; hence it cannot produce suffering or death. Neither does it sustain man of itself; it must be considered to be the expression of God’s love.

A Rule at Pleasant View. “No student can eat at my (Mrs. Eddy) table who does not say a few words for God before he or she leaves the table. I was early educated to this. I always do it at my table because I cannot avoid doing it.” From this statement we know that when she fed her material nature she never neglected to feed her spiritual nature; and she also tried to add the word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God to the daily diet of her students, so that they would not attempt to live by bread alone. Then when they reached the point where they had demonstrated above the material sense, spiritual sense would remain and be strong enough to support them.

No works on the subject of Christian Science existed, prior to my discovery of this Science. Before the publication of my first work on this doctrine, a few manuscripts of mine were in circulation. The discovery and founding of Christian Science has cost more than thirty years of unremitting toil and unrest; but, comparing those with the joy of knowing that the sinner and the sick are helped thereby, that time and eternity bear witness to this gift of God to the race, I am the debtor.
